Jerome has a knack for using traditional elements of King Island art and infusing it with his own more contemporary style. He often splits a mask with a baleen strip with an animal on one side and a mask or face with human features on the other. Combining human and animal traits is a cultural tenet. This wonderful Alaskan work of art is created from Mammoth ivory, baleen, whalebone and ptarmigan feathers. Signed Jerome Saclamana. 6" tall (including feathers) -2 7/8" wide- 5/16" deep.
