This gorgeous Tohono O'odham basket was handmade by Laura Thomas. It features butterfly designs on the bowl and insect designs on the lid. The Tohono O'Odham tribe have long been recognized as a peaceful, industrious, and friendly race who pride themselves on high quality, beautiful handmade goods. They most often use basketry in grand ceremonies where traditional songs are accompanied by hardwood rasps and drumming on overturned baskets.
