Picasso Marble Zuni Bobcat Fetish by Rosella and Loubert Soseeah

Product Description

Here is a beautiful hand carved bobcat fetish by Zuni artists Rosella and Loubert Soseeah. Carved from Picasso Marble, this particular piece is striking in that is two toned making on side of the bobcat light and the other dark. This two toned stone, along with the expert skills of the Soseeahs, has perfectly captured the essence of the bobcat.

Legend has it that the flattened face and tucked tail of the Bobcat references Zuni Bobcat folklore; the prankster coyote smashes the bobcat's nose and tail in while he sleeps When the Bobcat awakes and realizes this, he seeks revenge by pulling the nose of the sleeping coyote making it long and pointy and yanking the tail so long that it nearly drags the ground.
