Hopi Overlay Bear Paw Buckle by Floyd Lomakuyvaya

Product Description

This Sterling Silver Hopi Belt Buckle, features a double Bear Paw design, Waterwaves, and Prayer Feathers. It is a prime example of the Hopi Overlay technique of Silversmithing.

The symmetry of this piece is very typical of the Hopi style. The bear paws representing earthly strength, while the feathers represent flight and closeness to the creator, are brought together by the life-sustaining water.

Artist Floyd Lomakuyvaya has been making Jewelry since 1973. Not only is he highly regarded for his silversmithing but also for his humanitarian work.
