Among other powers, the Zuni Bear reminds us that one of the great qualities we have is the ability to turn to solitude and introspection in times of strife and move through this to new experience and change. The bowed head and strong back of Gaspers and Tsethlikia's Fetish represent this steadfastness. The beautifully varied tone of Egyptian Marble portrays the complexity of wisdom. The Bear almost kisses the floor, as though in touch with his place and responsibility on Earth. Gasper and Tsethlikai are known for their Fetishes' which are traditional in subject and experimental in materials. Rather than traditional Turquoise eyes they often use Sterling Silver, as in this piece. Perhaps the most unique element of this Fetish is the Bear Cub carved into the stone, as if stood at the Bears' side. The Bear Cub stands so close to his Mother he is almost indistinguishable, to symbolize the closeness of family and innate protectiveness of the Zuni Bear. Dimensions: 2 1/4" H x 2 3/8" L x 1" W.
